How Does Noom Med Work?
The Noom Med program is designed to offer you comprehensive clinical care for your weight loss journey and is done in tandem with the classic Noom Weight program to help maximize results. After signing up for Noom Med, you’ll complete our medical intake, which is similar to what you might complete before going to a doctor’s appointment but with a more detailed focus on your weight history.
Within the medical intake, you’ll have the option to upload recent lab work that your clinician will review with you during the initial visit. Once the medical intake is completed, you’ll be prompted to schedule a video visit with a clinician. During your visit, your clinician will complete an assessment and make recommendations for your care plan. They may order additional or new labs for you so that we’ll have the most comprehensive picture of your current metabolic health status.
Weight loss prescriptions are available to those who qualify, and if you’re interested in weight loss medication your clinician will work with you to help find the best one for your needs. After the initial visit, you’ll have access to ongoing clinical support from your Care Team to help review your progress, make adjustments to your care plan, and/or get additional recommendations as needed.
What is a Care Team?
The Care Team is a term we use to refer to your Clinician and your Care Coordinators. The Care Coordinators are a group of folks that are ready to help you with all of your Noom Med needs, from handling prior authorizations for prescriptions to connecting you with a Clinician via in-app messaging. They’re available 7 days a week during the hours of 7 am – 5 pm ET Monday through Friday and 7 am – 3 pm ET Saturday and Sunday. Their goal is to get back to you within 24 hours, often much sooner!
Will I get a coach?
Right now, all Noom Med participants have access to specialized Care Coordinators who will help navigate all of your clinical needs including labs, prescription refills, and prior authorizations. Your Care Coordinators can also answer questions while connecting you with your Noom Med clinician via in-app messaging whenever needed. We’re actively exploring how coaching can support Noom Med in the future – stay tuned!
